Hey! I'm Kim Elba
A makeup artist, mom, wife, entrepreneur, philanthropist, a girlie girl that loves everything sparkly.
First I would like to say thank you so much for shopping on my site. I'm truly grateful and I hope you will find it a happy and joyful experience.
My career in the makeup artistry field started many moons ago:-) I graduated with highest honors from the acclaimed "International Makeup Academy" in Europe. Shortly after graduating, I was extremely fortunate to get a smooth start into the industry and landed jobs with prestigious companies such as BBC and Columbia Tristar. I gained an incredible amount of knowledge, not only about makeup but the industry as a whole. No amount of thanks could ever be enough for the ones that gave me a chance and took me under their wings.
Later on I went back to further educate myself and received a Diploma with highest honors in continued education of makeup artistry and in addition to that I also studied cosmetology and esthetics.
The question that I get asked the most
is, which celebrities have I
I have truly been blessed to have had the opportunity to work with some of the worlds most talented actors and musicians. Such as....Hugh Laurie, Geena Davis, Jenna Redgrave, TLC's Chilli, Lyfe Jennings, Nigel Havers, Idris Elba and the late Robin Williams to name just a few.
What do I enjoy the most
about doing makeup?
Makeup is a very powerful tool! Most woman do not like to be seen in public without it, whether it will be a full face or just the basics such as mascara, lipstick or a gloss .
I remember vividly a personal experience that I had. I was on my way to an event and more than halfway there I realized that I forgot my lipstick and there was no time to turn around to get it.
As vain as it may sound LOL, it ruined my entire night!! I kept running to the powder room to check my lips. Ladies you know what I'm talking about. The lip liner is still there but all the lipstick has gone and in my case I had no way to reapply it. I would say that's a fair enough reason for a meltdown :-)
After my many years in the industry, it still never ceases to amaze me the things that can be achieved with makeup.
As cliche as it might sound, applying makeup on someone is like a painter starting on a brand new canvas, it's up to you to create and execute what you visualize and that's what I enjoy the most about makeup. The possibilities!!
What made me decide to start
my own makeup line?
After years in the industry people began to ask me questions such as...do you have your own makeup line or when will you be launching a makeup line? The subject kept popping up and it made me start to think that maybe it was not such a crazy idea. At the time I had actively started to scale back on doing makeup so it was perfect timing.
For every women that I have had in my makeup chair my goal has always been to make them feel beautiful and special so my wish is that women will feel exactly that, when they wear my makeup.
I find beauty in every face xoxo
